Real World Firewall Test

QAI Laboratories Coquitlam BC Canada Monday May 11, 2015

Just BioFiber Structural Solutions is conducting testing for use as a firewall. The standard used for fire-resistant ratings is CAN/ULC-S101, Fire Endurance Tests of Building Construction and Materials. This standard is critical for fire-resistance rating acceptance, as it is required by the National Building Code of Canada (NBC). The test consists of constructing a wall assembly 3 meters by 4 meters (91 blocks) then subjecting the entire wall surface to a furnace temperature of 1600 F  / 900 C for 1 hour then 1900 F / 1000 C for up to 4 hours. Then the wall is subjected to a fire hose stream of water. We anticipate the results May 22, 2015
